NDAR Help: Submit Data

Owners of a Collection or individuals that have been assigned Data Submission privilege are able to submit data into a Collection. To submit data into NDAR, please follow these steps:

Step 1 - Read and Accept the NDAR Terms and Conditions

Submit Data 1

Step 2 - Include the Data Submission Files and Descriptive Information

Using the NDAR Validation Tool, two files are generated. The first is a ticket file, that includes descriptive information associated with the submission. The second file is the submission package, which is a .zip file containing all files created by the validation tool (Note that only data files that pass validation are included in the .zip file). A title and a short description of the data being submitted is needed. Note that this information will be made available in the query tool so it should descriptive, but brief. Once this information is entered, the Submit Button is selected to transmit the data to the NDAR Central Repository.

Step 3 - Submission Confirmation

Assuming a successful transfer, a confirmation page is provided as is illustrated. Metadata are the xml data files submitted to the Central Repository. Data files include image and/or genetic files.

Once data is submitted, it may take up to two hours before the data becomes available for querying.
