NDAR provides a single access to de-identified autism research data. For permission to download data, you will need an NDAR account with approved access to NDAR or a connected repository (AGRE, IAN, or the ATP). For NDAR access, you need to be a research investigator sponsored by an NIH recognized institution with federal wide assurance. See Request Access for more information.

Selected Filters
No filters selected

The filters you have selected from various query interfaces will be stored here, in the 'Filter Cart'. The database will be queried using filters added to your 'Filter Cart', when multiple filters are defined, each will be executed using 'AND' logic, so with each filter that is applied the result set gets smaller.

From the 'Filter Cart' you can inspect each of the filters that have been defined, and you also have the option to remove filters. The 'Filter Cart' itself will display the number of filters applied along with the number of subjects that are identified by the combination of those filters. For example a GUID filter with two subjects, followed by a GUID filter for just one of those subjects would return only data for the subject that is in both GUID filters.

If you have a question about the filter cart, or underlying filters please contact the help desk at The NDA Help Desk

The Review interface allows you to inspect the results of your query and add subjects that have data to the Filter Cart. The layout is divided into four columns, a brief description of each follows:
  • Unidentified GUIDs: This contains a list of entries that were typed, copied/pasted, or uploaded that aren't recognized as GUIDs. This may indicate typos, an incorrectly formatted file (i.e., not comma delimited). You can correct any typos directly in this field and click the orange Check GUIDs button, to resubmit the corrected entries.
  • Subjects with Data: This contains GUIDs from the submitted list if those GUIDs correspond to subjects with data submitted to NDAR. This includes shared data or data available to you (i.e., private data from your own collection). The Subjects with Data count that appears at the top of this list may differ from the number of GUIDs submitted, if the list of GUIDs includes multiple GUIDs that identify the same subject. For cases where a subject has multiple GUIDs, you will see an entry in GUIDs Parent -> Child (see the last item for more details on this).
  • Subjects without Data: This contains a list of recognized GUIDs where no data has been submitted, or where data has been submitted but the data are not accessible to you (i.e., data that is not shared yet).
  • GUIDs Parent -> Child: This does not indicate familial relationships between Subjects. This contains a primary (parent) GUID and a list of secondary (child) GUIDs that identify the same subject. It is not necessary to include all GUIDs for a subject in your filter, the query will expand to include data for a subject regardless of GUID.

Clicking the 'Submit to Filter Cart' button will return a filter containing all data for subjects identified by your list of GUIDs. This filter will be added with an AND condition to anything existing in your Filter Cart.
