NDAR provides a single access to de-identified autism research data. For permission to download data, you will need an NDAR account with approved access to NDAR or a connected repository (AGRE, IAN, or the ATP). For NDAR access, you need to be a research investigator sponsored by an NIH recognized institution with federal wide assurance. See Request Access for more information.

Access Levels

The NIMH Data Repositories access levels are defined as follows:

Data Access (Query/Download)

NDAR, NDCT, RDoCdb, and PediatricMRI shared data requires the completion of the Data Use Certification, which is signed by the lab’s Principal Investigator and your institution's signing official and approved by the appropriate Data Access Committee. Please note that access to individual collections for data submission is granted by the collection owner/administrator instead of this form.

Data Submission

Those responsible for the submission of data to the NIMH Data Archive require the completion of the Data Submission Agreement. Please note that access to individual collections for data submission is granted by the collection owner/administrator instead of this form.

GUID Tool

For those needing access to generate a Global Unique Identifier (GUID) specific to each study participant, please select the GUID Tool describing why you need this access. No additional documentation is required.

Only those responsible for sharing data on behalf of the institution (usually the Principal Investigator (PI) or Data Coordinating Center (DCC) Manager) will be required to complete the Data Submission Agreement. Others may be assigned permission to submit data by the Collection Owner/Admin, which would not require the completion of this form.
